Free radicals are unstable molecules that are continuously being produced:

• In the body (Internal)
• Pollution, radiation, alcohol, smoking, medications and strenuous exercise (external).

Antioxidants are chemicals that oppose or neutralise oxidation in cells.

Oxidation in cells produces free radicals.
Free radicals can cause damage to nerve cells in the brain, arthritis, damage to eyesight, premature ageing, an increased risk of heart attack and certain cancers.

The only defence the body has against free radicals is with antioxidants.

Consuming antioxidant rich foods, especially fruit and vegetables (with Vitamin A and C) on a daily basis may significantly help to check and eliminate free radicals.
